The Townsville City Council Arts Awards were held on the 16th of February 2008. At this event, the Barrier Reef Orchestra was the winner of 'The Best Music Event in 2007' for the concert with James Morrison (and guests 1RAR rythym section and Townsville Brass) held at the Townsville Civic Theatre in August.
